Abstract

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of information asymmetry in the used car market in the Czech Republic. The aim of this work is to evaluate the impact of asymmetric information on the used car market in the Czech Republic for the period 2015-2020. The key asymmetric information examined is the number of kilometers traveled by the car sold. First, a search of professional literature and legislation on the issue is performed. The following is a description of the used car market and its development on the basis of selected indicators and describes the problems that can be identified when buying and selling used cars on the Czech market. In the next part, an analysis of the development of the level of asymmetric information on the used car market in the Czech Republic and an analysis of the linear dependence of the price change on the change in the number of kilometers traveled is performed. The work ends with a summary of the achieved results and verification of the established hypotheses.
