Historie a problematika důlní činnosti na Mostecku a její vliv na životní prostředí

Abstract

The aim of this thesis is to describe impact of mining activities in the Most lignite basin, mainly with respect to environment, since its beginning, through the present days with the future prospects. The main part briefly describes the history and the present of coal mining in the Most region, the issue of coal mining connected mainly with the opencast mining, its impact on the surrounding landscape, air as well as on the municipalities that had to give way to the mining activities. Furthermore, we focus on the future of coal mining in the Most lignite basin, that is tightly connected with the issue of mining limits. Attention is also paid to influence of potential breaking of the limits on the surrounding landscape, inhabitants and the Czech economy as well.
