Abstract

This thesis is focused on the areas around the tunnel portals. The subject of this thesis is to analyze the current state of the Excavation of the Ovciarsko Tunnel East Portal. The additional task of this thesis is making a variant concept for ensure stability of the front portal wall. Both situationswere processed into 3D numerical models created in geotechnical program MIDAS GTS NX. For creating three-dimensional model was used large amountof geodetic data and for complement, drawing documentation. The input parameters used for the constitutive models have been derived expecially from geotechnical survey executed in the area of interest. Some of the missing material characteristics were supplemented by values found in scientific literature. Outcome of this work is to determine and evaluate stress-strain states, and compute value of safety factor for the portal area by the software calculations. The results are compared among these model situations and the model of the actual state is matched with the measured values of geotechnical monitoring.
