Abstract
This bachelor thesis deals with measuring households' energy consumption. In the first chapter the theory of measuring various energies is described, as well as the basic utilities used to measure the energy consumption. Tools for measuring cold and hot water, heat, gas and electricity consumption are described here. Further chapters deal with the requested properties and activity of the measurement systems and the economic aspects of measurement. One of the chapters covers the topic of an "intelligent" house, explaining the term, its functions and advantages and disadvantages of a purchase of such a system for a household. In this bachelor thesis the reader should gain knowledge the practical aspects of electricity consumption measurement. The measurement process, tools used and results gained provide better insight into the relation of various appliances to a household's electricity consumption. A chart processor Excel is used for evaluation of measured data, their analysis and graphic representation, which allows to better compare the relation of appliances' functions to a total energy consumption of a given household. The results found in this bachelor thesis then discover the appliances with the highest impact on energy consumption and offer possible solutions that can bring lower consumption.
