This thesis discusses the design of concept and realization of power supply of electrically powered vehicle "Democar". In the first part of thesis are findings of the research, based on the task of this thesis. This research mainly involved the analysis of batteries being used, charging principles, balancing systems and examples of communication used in such systems. Research part is followed by practical design and implementation part, which describes the individual blocks of the battery system proposed for the vehicle "Democar". This section consists of a list of operational risks of “Democar” vehicle, design of boxes for battery modules, design of circuitry of battery modules, design of the control unit called EMCU and development of application software for this unit which is providing battery status informations to other systems in the vehicle.
