Abstract
EU Cohesion policy is a specific policy that aims to reduce the economic and social disparities between EU countries and regions. EU Cohesion policy plays an important role in the building of the internal market and the introduction of the common European currency. EU Cohesion policy represents key tool to achieve the EU objectives in the next programming period 2014-2020.
The main aim of bachelor thesis is to describe the development of EU Cohesion policy and present its architecture after 2013 EU in terms of the changes that are proposed for the future programming period 2014-2020. Although it is a long way to start the period 2014 – 2020 it is already clear that the reform will be primarily focused on the strategic approach to programming, stronger thematic concentration, simplification and focusing on results and evaluation. Thanks to reform the basic objectives of EU Cohesion policy should be reached more efficiently. According these requirements, the whole architecture of EU Cohesion policy 2014-2020 will be changed in terms of its objectives towards the programme documents.
