Abstract
The content of this thesis is research of the concept, implementation and verification of the system for PMU testing. Test system generates appropriate stimulus signal, receives data from the PMU and performs its processing in order to verify the behaviour of PMU for both static and dynamically changing signals. The concept of the testing system is based on Virtual Instrumentation. The key hardware components of the test system include modular PXI hardware platform, cRIO with FPGA both of these key components are tailored for precise synchronization of generated or measured signals. For implementation of software application for processing of test signals the LabVIEW graphical programming environment is used.
The theoretical contribution of this work is development of appropriate methods dedicated for PMU testing and verification as well as the development of the methodology for evaluation of measured data. The result of the work is methodology that allows verification of PMU’s behavior during static signals or dynamic changes of input’s signals level.
The practical contribution of this work is design and realization of unique test system that in context of developed methods performs automated testing of PMU as well as evaluation whether the tested PMU meets requirements of standard or end user’s requirements. The developed methods have an application in PMU testing area. The PMUs are beginning deploy in distributions network around the world nowadays.
