Densifikace historického jádra Valašského Meziříčí – dům na nábřeží

Densification of historical core of Valašské Meziříčí – House on the waterfront The introduction of diploma thesis is the urbanistic analysis of Valašské Meziříčí, whose structure was significantly changed and disrupted in socialism, especially near the historic core. The result of the analysis is to increase density and closure of these open and disrupted spaces, which have previously been damaged primarily in terms of definition of street fronts, disrupted the concentration of the buildings, inappropriately opened viewpoints and caused an unresponsive transition between the historical structure and the collective housing. The aim of the thesis is not only to support the historical image of the city and it’s atractivity, but also to respond to its current needs. I then deal in detail with an architectural study of one of the most important places. Valašské Meziříčí is inter alia connected with the river Bečva, which flows through the center of the town. Its riverside have the potential to become an attractive public space - however, this potential is not yet fully utilized. In conclusion of diploma thesis I deal with place near the river, which is important not only for its lucrative location on the waterfront, but also for its proximity to the cultural center of the town. The result of my work is cultural and social center on the waterfront between the Bečva River and the Žerotín castle area, topographical interconnection of parts of the town, defining waterfront in this place and creating an attractive place for recreation near the river.
