Abstract
Abstract
Gamma analysis is a method routinely used to evaluate the results of verification patient's IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy) plans. In the current practice it is only the numerical concept which does not contain relevant clinical information and geometric parameters of the examined area.
The aim of this diploma thesis is to create application suitable for evaluation and possibly prediction of the seriousness of gamma analysis results coming from portal dosimetry. This application will use position data of the radiated object and critical organs from BEV (Beam's Eye View) projection of planning system. The frequency of noncompliant outputs in gamma index matrices (i.e., gamma index higher than 1) from portal dosimetry will be tracked. The locations of such points will be analyzed and put into the relation with corresponding lamella's pair of the multileaf collimator and with their position against BEV projection.
This work will be performed for the group of patients with prostate gland carcinoma treated with IMRT at Radiology and oncology clinic of Faculty Hospital Kralovske Vinohrady. The outputs of this Thesis will have a practical impact on improvement of verification methods in the above mentioned Hospital department.
