Protipovodňová opatření na horním toku řeky Opavy

Abstract

The thesis briefly describes the system of flood protection in the legal standards of the Czech Republic. There are mentioned basic theoretical activities of flood control authorities of municipalities, municipalities with extended competence, counties and the central flood committee. The thesis also describes the area of the upper reaches of Opava river with map of the flooded area, a description of planned flood protection which will be build in the upper reaches of Opava river. In the conclusion were performed: analyzes of the financial evaluation of the whole project on the upper reaches of Opava river, risk analysis and vulnerability related to floods in Krnov which can be applied to other cities and towns located on the upper reaches of Opava river. At the end of this thesis there is designed a method for calculating the effectiveness of flood protection.
