Abstract
The thesis deals with extrajudicial settlement of disputes – mediation. The aim of the thesis is to describe the advantages and disadvantages, which result from the usage of mediation and analyzes how are disputes in not punitive areas by the help of mediation solved. In the theoretic part is a summary about characteristics of conflicts delivered. I also deal with mediation, its process and legal regulations. Hereafter are two cases of disputes mentioned, which are solved with the help of mediation.
