Abstract

This work deals with methods of deoxidation of steel and components, which can carry out deoxidation, distribution and identification of non-metallic inclusions and modification of steel by calcium. The experimental part focuses on the steel plant equipment EVRAZ VÍTKOVICE STEEL, a.s and production technology of steel for long-distance pipelines.It also deals with the assessment of metallographic cleanliness steel according to ASTM E45 using X-ray spectral analysis. In the evaluation steel of norm ASTM E45 has been shown that the maximum level of pollution was not significantly different X-ray microanalysis results indicate that in all investigated cases of metal particles formed complex oxy-sulfur, or complex oxides. From the results we can say that steel is characterized by high purity, which is expected in the steel used for long-distance pipelines. On the other hand, X-ray microanalysis showed that in this steel net there are different kinds of metallic particles that can disrupt the quality of the finished product.
