Abstract
The dissertation work deals with Life Cycles Assessment (LCA) of the production 1 MJ of electricity in nuclear and wind power plant in the Czech Republic. In the
theoretical part of the thesis are analyzed the present knowledge of LCA, the procedures for applying the analysis and used evaluation methodologies. Likewise, there is analyzed description of the system of nuclear and wind power.In short summary, are here described the principles of studied facilities with their technical specifications. The practical part of the thesis deals with the modeling life cycle of a nuclear power plant Temelin and wind
turbines Vestas V80 2 MW using LCA methodology. There are described and evaluated the material and energy flows for all phases of the life cycle studied facilities, and transformed to create inventory analysis.The reference flow is the total power production
of the facility and the functional unit is 1 MJ of electricity. In the end of practical part is
also included comparison of the environmental impacts of the production of 1 MJ of electricity in nuclear power and wind power plant. Environmental impacts are evaluated on the basis of the impact categories obtained by applying evaluation methodologies CML-IA and Eco-indicator 99.
