Item type: Item , Effect of power quality on human health and safety(Vysoká škola báňská - Technická univerzita Ostrava, 2013) Velička, Richard; Veličková, EvaEvery product which is supply on the market has to fulfi l defi nite parameters. These parameters ensure usability of product in consumption and guarantee safety of product in relation to health protection and protection of property. The same requirements concern supplied elektricity in distribution network. Most devices are dependent on the source of electrical energy today. For this reason, it is very important to follow parameters of electrical energy for the error - free operation of these devices to prevent health damage (e.g. fl ashing of light sources owing to fl ickering effect - factors of fl ickering) or fi res (e.g. fi res caused by insulation failure owing to inadmissible overvoltage in supply network). The parameters of power quality are defi ned in the standard ČSN EN 50160 ed. 3. Methods of measurement are mentioned in the standard ČSN EN 61000 - 4 - 30.Item type: Item , The property offender in the context of psychological personality disorders(Vysoká škola báňská - Technická univerzita Ostrava, 2013) Mariš, LadislavThe author of the article deals with the problem of the behavior of the offender (the intruder). Experiments were carried out on the ground of former barracks, at present the training ground of Fire and Rescue Service of the Vysočina Region in Jihlava. The article describes the place and the procedure of the experiment, gas-tight chemical protective clothing and a range of usage of the thermal camera. Measured values of temperature fi eld are stated and discussed. In the conclusion, recommendations for measurements using the thermal camera in further experiments, aimed at acquiring more accurate knowledge of external manifestations of strain on fi refi ghters when using gas-tight clothing, are presented.Item type: Item , Quantification of the hazard due to releases of radioactive substances in accidents and fires in workplaces with radioactive sources(Vysoká škola báňská - Technická univerzita Ostrava, 2013) Hudzietzová, Jana; Sabol, JozefIn the Czech Republic, under normal conditions, the radioactive sources are used transported and stored in accordance with the relevant regulations and instructions of the State Offi ce for Nuclear Safety (SONS), which is the regulatory authority of the state administration. Its main task is to ensure adequate safety and protection of persons in accordance with current international standards and guidelines. However, if there is an incidence, accident, or other emergency, these circumstances require taking some specifi c measures aimed at minimizing the impact of such situations on human health and the environment. During a fi re in the workplace, the radioactive sources can get out of control or radioactive substances may begin to leak into the environment. In these cases, it is necessary to evaluate the radiation situation by means of measurement and monitoring both the external radiation and radioactive contamination of the air and the surrounding environment. For this purpose, a system of quantities and units has been developed for this purpose. If the system is not used correctly, this may cause serious confusion in some cases. Inappropriate use of quantities may also result in some misunderstanding regarding the evaluation of the severity of the radiation situation. The paper gives an overview of the relevant quantities and units in accordance with the latest recommendations of international organizations which are active in this area.Item type: Item , The testing of surface fire retardants(Vysoká škola báňská - Technická univerzita Ostrava, 2013) Fanfarová, AdelaidaThe article deals with the importance of testing and using of application of fi re retardants for the needs of fi re protection in practice. The experiment present the testing of test specimens by means of experimental scientifi c method of test of limited fl ame spread in the test bench under laboratory conditions. Based on the measured data are exactly and precisely evaluated different types of surface fi re retardants. On test specimens made by wood were applied the tested fi re retardants, which were directly exposed to open fl ame. The results of the experiment represents and expressed fi re-technical characteristics that describe the behavior of wood specimens during the process of combustion: weight loss, time of ignition, time of spontaneous combustion and time of smolder. The acquired information refl ects the effectiveness of fi re retardants in protection against the fi re.Item type: Item , The use of the development index in the assessment of occupational health and safety conditions - case study(Vysoká škola báňská - Technická univerzita Ostrava, 2013) Boháč, Zdeněk; Korban, ZygmuntBoth one- and multi-criteria tasks can be distinguished depending on the number of criteria being considered.
