Item type: Item , Czech teens’ experiences with sexting on Instagram(IPSI BELGRADE LTD, 2023) Šaloun, Petr; Kolářová, Michaela; Andrešič, David; Malčík, Martin; Klement, Milan; Bártek, KvětoslavThe text focuses on dangerous phenomena in com-munication via online platforms. It defines the key terms for this area and informs about the selected research conducted in the Czech Republic. In our own research, we focused on the issue of teenage sexting on a specific communication platform -Instagram. This platform is very popular among Czech teenagers, as it is worldwide. The platform very often ranks among the top 3 most popular platforms, it allows sending and sharing both text and graphic messages -pictures, gifs and video sequences. In 2021, we conducted an online research survey among nearly 3,500 respondents aged 15 -20. We were interested in whether and to what extent the respondents have experienced sexting, what is the ratio of male to female recipients of sexting or sexual content, who is the most frequent sender of sexting content etc. We were also interested in the topic of safety in social networks. The results of the survey then show a greater need to promote information literacy, computational thinking and safe behaviour on social networks as well as safe use of ICT.Item type: Item , Sv. František a hledání „nového“ křesťanství v ruské filozofii první poloviny 20. století (D. Merežkovskij a N. Berďajev)(Univerzita Konštantína Filozofa v Nitre, 2022) Evlampiev, Igor; Petrucijová, Jelena; Feber, JaromírEVLAMPIEV, Igor - PETRUCIJOVA, Jelena - FEBER, Jaromir. St. Francis of Assisi and the Search for a "New" Christianity in the Russian Philosophy of the First Half of the 20th Century (D. Merezhkovsky and N. Berdyaev). The authors analyse the understanding of St. Francis of Assisi by D. Merezhkovsky and N. Berdyaev, the prominent representatives of the "new religious consciousness". The analysis is contextualized by the overview of the conception of Francis' importance in Russian theological and philosophical literature at the turn of the 20th century. In the Orthodox literature was the evaluation of St. Francis directly derived from the evaluation of Catholicism. The concept of Francis as the "embodiment" of the ideal of the Catholic sacrament prevailed. Merezhkovsky and Berdyaev did not consider the differences between Orthodoxy and Catholicism to be essential. In their view, Francis was to rise above historical Christianity and marked the tendency to transform both churches (Catholic and Orthodox) into a new final state. According to Russian thinkers, the Church must go this way in the name of overcoming the religious crisis that all humanity is experiencing.Item type: Item , Ethical aspects of the impact of AI: the status of humans in the era of artificial intelligence(Springer Nature, 2021) Rakowski, Roman; Polák, Petr; Kowaliková, PetraOn the one hand, AI is a functional tool for emancipating people from routine work tasks, thus expanding the possibilities of their self-realization and the utilization of individual interests and aspirations through more meaningful spending of time. On the other hand, there are undisputable risks associated with excessive machine autonomy and limited human control, based on the insufficient ability to monitor the performance of these systems and to prevent errors or damage (Floridi et al. Minds & Machines 28, 689-707, 2018). In connection with the use of ethical principles in the research and development of artificial intelligence, the question of the social control of science and technology opens out into an analysis of the opportunities and risks that technological progress can mean for security, democracy, environmental sustainability, social ties and community life, value systems, etc. For this reason, it is necessary to identify and analyse the aspects of artificial intelligence that could have the most significant impact on society. The present text is focused on the application of artificial intelligence in the context of the market and service sector, and the related process of exclusion of people from the development, production and distribution of goods and services. Should the application of artificial intelligence be subject to value frameworks, or can the application of AI be sufficiently regulated by the market on its own?Item type: Item , The Challenges of Defining the Term "Industry 4.0"(Springer Nature, 2020) Kowaliková, Petra; Polák, Petr; Rakowski, RomanThe presented study deals with the definition of the Industry 4.0 phenomenon, which generally refers to the so-called Fourth Industrial Revolution. In the framework of this analysis, the interpretation of this term is examined in strategic documents (from the government, experts, representatives of businessmen and employees) and in the professional literature (expert interpretation of the term). For the purpose of defining the Industry 4.0 concept, a simplified scheme is created which divides it into descriptive and normative definitions. The description of "what is" includes a retrospective on previous industrial revolutions and the definition of possible areas of automation. Conversely, the normative description of "how it should be" works with the sustainability of competition in the global space, while providing guidance on how to prepare society for this (r)evolution. These preparations, which include subsidies to companies, education reforms, planning and reform of the welfare state, automation as a process of excluding an individual from the manufacturing process and cost savings, will lead to the creation of a new society, we argue.Item type: Item , Failure of chatbot Tay was evil, ugliness and uselessness in its nature or do we judge it through cognitive shortcuts and biases?(Springer Nature, 2020) Zemčík, TomášThis study deals with the failure of one of the most advanced chatbots called Tay, created by Microsoft. Many users, commentators and experts strongly anthropomorphised this chatbot in their assessment of the case around Tay. This view is so widespread that we can identify it as a certain typical cognitive distortion or bias. This study presents a summary of facts concerning the Tay case, collaborative perspectives from eminent experts: (1) Tay did not mean anything by its morally objectionable statements because, in principle, it was not able to think; (2) the controversial content spread by this AI was interpreted incorrectly-not as a mere compilation of meaning (parroting), but as its disclosure; (3) even though chatbots are not members of the symbolic order of spatiotemporal relations of the human world, we treat them in this way in many aspects.Item type: Item , Study results of university students in the context of experiencing positive emotions, satisfaction and happiness(Kassel University Press GmbH, 2019) Malčík, Martin; Miklošíková, MiroslavaAn optimal motivation for learning is one of the fundamental prerequisites for study success, it is therefore understandable that experts are still looking for additional ways to positively influence university students in this field. One option is the coherent and deliberate use of the close interdependence of motivational and emotional processes. In our reflections, we assume that the low motivation level of university students to learn can be caused by their dissatisfaction with certain areas of their lives. The emotions that they experience may prevent them from experiencing the enjoyment of learning, negatively influence attention, concentration and will, which reflects in their lack of interest and even indifference to learning activities and consequently in deterioration of their learning outcomes. To find out how the students of the VSB - Technical University of Ostrava are satisfied with selected areas of their lives, we presented them with a series of ten consecutive stimuli (one stimulus = a pictogram and a descriptive word) that represented the domains of health - interpersonal relationships - studies - finances - personality characteristics. During the time the student followed the given stimuli, we measured their galvanic skin response (GSR) and in this manner followed the physiological manifestations of their emotions. After completing the measurement, the student completed a non-anonymous questionnaire in which they were required to comment on the quality of the emotion they felt during each stimulus. We compared the obtained data with the study success and verified potential dependencies.Item type: Item , Society caught in a labyrinth of algorithms: Disputes, promises, and limitations of the new order of things(Springer, 2019) Hauer, TomášWe are in the interim of the massive expansion of the new and fundamental technology, which is represented by the advanced algorithms of AI. No one knows the real potential of machine learning and AI. Letting the algorithms drive autonomous vehicles (driverless cars) is like running the Boston Marathon. Creating an ethically completely autonomous AI system is like a piloted flight to Alpha Centauri. Nevertheless, we still live in the world of algorithms. Today there are algorithms in every corner of civilization, as quantum fluctuations they are integrally interwoven into the structure of everyday life. They are not just in your mobile phone or laptop. Algorithms plan flights and then fly with planes. Algorithms run factories, the bank is a vast array of algorithms, evaluating our credit score, algorithms collect revenue and keep records, read medical images, diagnose cancer, drive cars, write scientific texts, compose music, conduct symphony orchestras, navigate drones, speak to us and for us, write film scenarios, invent chemical formulations for a new cosmetic cream, order, advise, paint pictures. Climate models decide what is a safe carbon dioxide level in the atmosphere, NSA algorithms decide whether you are a potential terrorist. If every algorithm suddenly stopped working, it would be the end of the world as we know it. How did this new alliance, this interim world come into existence, does it suit us, and how and where will it develop? What AI algorithms have shown and offered to us so far is just a prelude, and even today it turns out that politics, ethics and law do not know what to do with the consequences of these changes. However, when we experience computer control by a mere idea, complex genetic modifications, and DNA enhancement using CRISPR, or perhaps flying cars, we can expect real challenges related to the power of algorithms. Then AI algorithms will really transform everything. The study analyzes the social contradictions, promises and limitations associated with how the desire to move higher on technological prominence in the realm of artificial intelligence faces the ethical, legal and political barriers of the existing order of things.Item type: Item , Learning styles of students as a factor affecting pedagogical activities of a university teacher(Kassel University Press GmbH, 2017) Malčík, Martin; Miklošíková, MiroslavaSocial changes demand a continuously increasing level of population erudition, which is to be helped by an increased quality of university education. University graduation poses a demanding study activity for students, which requires self-regulation mechanisms, attention and effective curriculum processing. University teacher can help effective learning by respecting the learning styles of students, which are closely connected to their type of thinking. Some experts [1] assume that study texts should be created in a way to reflect the type of thinking of students; i.e. serial thinking students require a differently structured study text as opposed to holistic thinking students. In this research, using the eye-tracking technology, we examined whether technically oriented students use serial thinking for acquiring and processing information and for the following problem-solving and whether humane education students use holistic thinking.Item type: Item , Speed, wealth and power(Springer, 2017) Hauer, TomášIn many of his texts French cultural critic, city planner and philosopher Paul Virilio emphasises that speed is not a phenomenon, but a relation between phenomena. The difference between contemporary society and societies of the past consists in the fact that earlier speed used to be mainly connected with transport, now it concerns relations within information. The question of speed is central. Speed and wealth go hand in hand. To give a philosophical definition of speed, we can say that it is not a phenomenon, but rather the relationship between phenomena. In other words, it is relativity itself. Virilio's influential books analyses new problems resulting from the fact that the development of industrial capitalism has reached the stage in which wealth and power in society have been interconnected with ever increasing speed. In view of Virilio's statement that wealth is an aspect of speed it has become necessary to consider speed and all its aspects and consequences through a prism of a new discipline - dromology. Dromology originates from the Greek word dromos. Hence dromology is the science of the ride, the journey, the drive, the way. This means that speed and riches are totally linked concepts. And that the history of the world is not only about the political economy of riches, that is, wealth, money, capital, but also about political economy of speed. Text analyzes the two main themes. Firstly, the treatise attempts at an philosophical analysis of - dromology. Dromologic revolutions cause artificial acceleration of speed in the form of steam or combustion engine, or, nowadays, nuclear energy and they immediately form both e.g. waging wars and kinds of communication. The second part of the study discusses the difference between contemporary society and societies of the past. Vehicles of speed create new dromospheric chronology, new tracks and nodal points (ports, roads, airports, telecommunications etc.) through which things, goods, money, weapons, people or information will start flowing within a different structure.Item type: Item , Závodní kolonie jámy Jiří v Moravské Ostravě(Akademie věd České republiky, Etnologický ústav, 2011) Jemelka, MartinItem type: Item , Baudrillardova teorie iluzí(Akademie věd České republiky, Filozofický ústav, 2014) Zemčík, TomášItem type: Item , Věda, filozofie, racionalita, víra a rozum(Akademie věd České republiky. Filozofický ústav, 2008) Feber, JaromírPolemický článek chce být příspěvkem k širší diskusi na téma vztahu filosofie a vědy a rovněž vztahu rozumu, racionality a víry. Autor obhajuje názor, že jakékoli myšlení (i racionální vědecké) implicitně obsahuje víru. Autor vyčleňuje dvě roviny víry: a) esenciální víru – víru zdůvodňující základní ontologická a gnoseologická východiska našeho poznání a b) existenciální víru – víru, která zdůvodňuje subjektivní smysl našeho života. Autor je přesvědčen, že jedině víra pojímána jako konstitutivní základ lidského rozumu umožňuje adekvátně pochopit duchovní pluralitu současného světa.Item type: Item , Metodologické poznámky nejen ke studiu ruské náboženské filosofie(Akademie věd České republiky.
