dc.description.abstract | The eSURV system is for measurements, documentation and
3D visualization and to interpret a fi re scene and determine how
a fi re started and how it spread. The main objective of the system
is to show the way in which scientifi c principles can be used by
the fi re investigator. The solution is based on an electronic total
station. Its work is being controlled by special software, designed to
help the experts in documenting, analysing and reconstructing the
accidents. The system includes innovative solutions that have been
submitted for patent protection. The solutions improve the safety,
the speed and the effi ciency of the work. The quality of the fi nal
effect is impossible to achieve using traditional methods. eSURV
allows the user to collect in a digital form the data on the geometry
of the environment including traces and objects revealed on the
site of the incident, then develop a plan and sketches, as well as
a realistic 3D model of the scene of the post fi re places that can
be used in the visualization, reconstruction and compartment fi re
dynamics, which provide the basis for understanding fi re behaviour.
Working with the eSURV system has already proved successful in
such fi elds, as criminal incidents and road accidents. | cs |
