Abstract

This research work deals with the study of available literature in connection with the issue of 3D printing of high-strength steel, marked Maraging steel - M300. The first goal of the work was to detect problems arising in the SLM process. Another aim was to find out from the available publications the appropriate setting of process parameters to reduce or eliminate partial problems such as, residual stress, surface roughness and relative density. The work also contains an overview of finishing applications of the effect of hardening and annealing on the microstructure and mechanical properties. The last goal of this work was to determine the ideal process parameters for production in the SLM process, for maraging steel material and Renishaw AM500E.
