Abstract
This diploma thesis deals with the design of the method of excavation of line tunnels of the Stockholm metro. Sweden is specific mainly due to its geological conditions, which consist mainly of healthy rocks. The first part of the work is devoted to a general description of the Stockholm metro, the geology of Stockholm and a description of the project to extend the blue line of the Stockholm metro by two stations (Barkarbystaden and Barkarby). In the next part are the two most common methods of excavation in Sweden. This is a Norwegian tunnelling method based on the principle of Drill & Blast excavation and excavation using a TBMs. Subsequently, the issue of design of the excavation method and its optimization is described. The final part of the diploma thesis is focused on the proposal of the method and technological process of excavation.
