Abstract
The bachelor thesis is a case study of the use of reverse engineering and 3D laser scanning to create a digital 3D model of glasses frames. The thesis explains the terms that are associated with 3D scanning. It also describes the procedure of scanning and subsequent data modification using Reverse Engineering tools to obtain the resulting CAD model of the frames. The aim was to model the 3D model with the greatest possible accuracy to the scanned data. This is a demonstration of the advantages of this process, and how Reverse Engineering can be used to create accurate CAD models that can serve as a starting point for creating new designs or modifying existing ones.
