This bachelor thesis focuses on the use of the simulation of the selective laser melting (SLM) process to analyze the formation of residual stresses in the production of parts made of aluminium alloy AlSi10Mg. Finite element methods (FEM) are used in the work to determine the optimal parameters for minimizing the residual stress. Experiments were carried out with combinations of parameters such as process parameters of SLM technology and the results were compared with the simulation results. The knowledge gained will help to improve the manufacturing quality of SLM parts and minimize the effect of residual stress on their functionality and lifetime.
