Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with the design of an injection mold for a plastic part – a tensioning element of a pleated insect screen. The aim of the thesis is to develop a technologically suitable and economically efficient mold for mass production. The initial part includes an analysis of the part in terms of its function, geometry, and material requirements. Subsequently, available manufacturing technologies are evaluated and injection molding is selected as the most appropriate method. A finite element analysis is also performed to assess the mechanical behavior of the part. The main part of the thesis focuses on the design of the injection mold, including the parting line, gating system, cooling system, and ejection mechanism. The design is verified using a mold flow simulation. The result is a complete injection mold design developed in SolidWorks, including 3D models and technical documentation, suitable for practical manufacturing applications.
