Abstract

The diploma thesis deals with rationalization of production of electric motors with the use of 3D printing, when using the additive technology we optimize the passive parts of the electric motor, namely the terminal box and subsequently we produce functional prototypes of electric motor components, which can be subsequently assembled into the assembly, tested and then applied in the introduction of new technology in mass production. The introductory chapters describe the basic information about Siemens, s.r.o. and general characteristics of additive production and additive process, introduction to 3D printing methods, description of current technological and constructional state of electric motor and their graphical analysis, serving for design of economically advantageous variants presented in experimental part of the thesis. The experimental part was carried out by optimizing the design of the terminal box component in various prototype variants at Protolab, Powder Bed Fusion 3D technology - SLS with future possible application of optimized components in mass production when testing in-service functionality using other, cheaper material (ABS) and introduction multiple injection molding technology while maintaining the current IP protection standard. In conclusion, a technical-economic evaluation of the entire thesis on rationalization of electric motor production using additive technology in the production of functional prototypes was performed.
