Abstract
This thesis deals with the issue of Slovácko gastronomy. The theoretical part explains the basic concepts of tourism, its benefits, forms and types. At the same time it describes the concepts of both the Czech and the world gastronomy. The practical part finds out - using a questionaire - the interest of gastronomy in the Slovácko region and its importance; there are also listed the most popular food festivals which take place in the Czech Republic.
