Abstract
Thesis deals with numerical solutions of stress intensity factors for various configurations of cracks. Results were compared with analytical solutions to numerical solution using finite element methods for different shapes and sizes of cracks.
Firstly are solved problems of straight-through cracks, which are represented by crack in infinite plate with a circular hole and the same size crack in infinite plate without hole. After that both types of cracks are compared.
Further there are solved problems of real cracks. There are solved semi-elliptical surface cracks in pressure vessels both on the external surface and the internal surface of vessel.
