Abstract

NÁDVORNÍKOVÁ, Gabriela. Humanitarian aid warehouse design. Ostrava, 2026, 76 p. Master’s thesis. VŠB – Technical Univerzity of Ostrava, Faculty of Safety Engineering. The diploma thesis deals with the issue of humanitarian aid with a focus on logistical support and the storage of aid during emergencies. The theoretical part includes a literature review and an overview of legislation related to humanitarian aid, crisis management and the logistical support of humanitarian operations. The analytical part of the thesis focuses on the analysis and description of selected humanitarian aid warehouses operating in the Czech Republic, particularly in the Olomouc Region, including their organization, storage facilities, inventory management and methods of providing assistance, as well as the analysis and description of selected warehouses abroad. Based on the findings, the practical part proposes a model of a humanitarian aid warehouse intended for use during emergencies. The aim of the proposal is to improve the logistical support of humanitarian aid and the distribution of material assistance to populations affected by extraordinary incident.
