Bachelor thesis is dealing with design calculations of a segmental orifice plate for measuring water flow with the possibility of the presence of solid particles. The introductory part describes the historical development of flow meters and their applications. In the theoretical part, individual flow meters are described along with energy transformations in cross-sectional meters. Design calculations of the segmental orifice plate are compared with certified calculation software, the resulting differences of the calculations are clarified. Drawing documentation of the designed flow meter is drawn up on the basis of the designed segmental orifice plate.
