Abstract

The Bachelor Thesis deals with the design of the steel supporting structure for a set of vacuum pumps made by Edwards, s.r.o. The theoretical part describes the vacuum technology and the issue of designing steel supporting structures. In the practical part, the progressive development of the frame alternatives is indicated and the design of the structure for the final alternative is described in greater detail, including material, structural members and joint methods. The design and calculation of the bolted joint is also part of the practical part. In the conclusion, strength and modal analyses are performed by means of the final element method to verify the suitable proposal of the design. The design corresponds to the specified customer requirements and is therefore suitable for production.
