Abstract
Thesis is focused on machining of hard to machine materials in term of insert geometry and its influence to cutting process. Consider super-alloys groups, their properties and machinability. Gives information about latest trends and knowledge regarding machining of titanium alloys and comes with improvements of cutting geometry and cutting conditions for effective machining process.
Practical part of the thesis examines influence of cutting edge radius of cemented carbide insert to its wear at machining titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V. Obtained data are used for production of testing insert in production work.
