Abstract

Submitted doctoral thesis is dealing with testing of cutting tool from ceramic during interrupted cutting. Measured values are processed and evaluated by the help of tables and charts including their description. The first part of this doctoral thesis is focused to separation of cutting materials. There are described sintered carbides, cermets, cutting ceramics and superhard cutting materials. Following chapter is described effect of thermal and mechanical shocks on cutting tool. In the next chapter are analyzed particular testing methods thanks to is possible simulate interrupted cut, their methodic, principle, advantages and disadvantages. On the basis on theoretical analysis was chosen method of slide turning (cylinder with bladings). This fixture has been constructed on Department of Machining and Assembly VSB- Technical University of Ostrava. Cutting tips were purchased from three manufacturers and were tested according to plan of experiment which is described in the chapter 6.6. Experimental part is stated in the chapter 7. In this chapter are evaluated results of experiments for each cutting tips separately. Closing part of each chapter contains estimation and comparison of tested cutting tools. Final part of this doctoral thesis summarizes conclusions of all measured results, benefits for science and benefits for general practice.
