Abstract

As part of your thesis, design a handling device for handling sand cores in a foundry operation. The machine will be located in the work area, in front of the injection moulding machine for the production of cores. The machine will utilize the current overhead crane design that defines its working area. It must also be able to remove freshly produced core from the production machine. It will be operated by only one worker and will use a combination of hydraulic and human power. Human power will only be used to move the machine over the bridge structure on which the machine will be suspended. The machine must be able to access the core stored in the core box, which however limits the handling space. They must then pull the core up, drive the machine into the handling area, turn the core onto the third leg and set it on the ground. The client, VAG s.r.o., will provide more information and clarification of the specification during the consultation.
