Abstract
This master's thesis deals with the design and implementation of a modern data warehouse using the Data Vault 2.0 methodology and the Snowflake cloud data platform. The thesis responds to the technological limitations of traditional data modeling approaches, such as the Inmon and Kimball models, which often fall short of meeting organizations' growing demands for agility, scalability, and seamless integration of heterogeneous sources. The main objective of the thesis is to create a fully functional Proof of Concept that demonstrates the complete data lifecycle using real data from the Azure DevOps system. Special attention is given to Data Warehouse Automation (DWA) using the Data Vault Builder tool, which enables efficient, metadata-driven code generation. The results of the thesis confirm that the chosen architecture provides the organization with a high degree of flexibility, full historical auditability, and a significant acceleration of the development cycle without the need for manual, repetitive coding. Thus, it represents a robust foundation for the future development and strategic decision-making of the enterprise.
