Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with design and analysis of the kiln drive. Exactly by the strength calculations of springs, which are connecting toothed ring with the body of the rotary kiln. While the first calculation analyses the springs of existing geometry, those following examined the effectiveness of the proposed design modifications. Achievements are in thesis evaluated and compared. All strength calculations were performed by using finite element method in commercial software ANSYS Workbench 15.0. The theoretical part is devoted to a brief description of rotary kilns and structurally similar rotating machinery. Further is mentioned analysis of the modes of transmission of the driving torque from the electric motor to the furnace body. In the conclusion is carried out assessment of achievements and possibilities of created design modifications.
