Abstract

The aim of this thesis is to construct a movable bench with reversible motion which is going to be part of a small milling machine. The introduction focuses on the construction of the bench and there are various construction options being compared. Choosing the right construction design is followed by a design of a kinetic bolt. There are two propulsion alternatives being compared, first includes a bolt with isosceles trapezoid thread whereas the second includes a ball bolt. Part of this thesis is also to select an appropriate electric motor and to design a gear box with linear gearwheel. The gear box shafts and gearwheels are checked up for strenght. Further a ball bolt is checked for dynamic strenght. Lifetime of all bearings at work is being found out
