Posouzení aktivního a pasivního investování do fondů

Abstract

The subject of the bachelor thesis is a comparison of active and passive investment strategies within the American stock market from the perspective of a local investor. The objective is to evaluate, based on an analysis of cost structures and historical performance of selected funds between 2016 and 2025, whether active management is capable of generating sufficient value added compared to low-cost index instruments. In the practical section, modeling of real-life investment scenarios is utilized, emphasizing the impact of currency hedging and the overall cost-efficiency of the selected strategies. The analysis implies that while passive investing offers high cost-efficiency, actively managed funds can provide greater resilience to currency risks and market volatility in the domestic environment. Based on these findings, investment recommendations are formulated, defining active management with currency hedging as a competitive alternative to index instruments, depending on the investor's risk profile, investment horizon, and the current stability of the foreign exchange market.
