Abstract

This Bachelor Thesis concerns the hydropower energetics in the Czech Republic. It is focused on the project and evaluation of the small hydropower plant for the particular area. The state of the art and perspectives for utilization of hydropower energy in the Czech Republic as well as the possibilities of usage of small water-courses for energy harvesting are described in the first chapters of this thesis. The practical part of the thesis deals with the specified location Ostrava – Vítkovice and the river Ostravice. The small hydropower plant is designed based on the data of the current hydropower potential of this locality. Finally, the energetic, economic and environmental evaluation of designed small hydropower plant is performed.
