Abstract

This master’s thesis is about sleeping car layout design that meets requirements of European legislation and parameters set by Škoda Transportation, a. s. At the beginning of the thesis, a search of current solutions of sleeping cars operated in Europe is made, followed by an overview of European legislative requirements for sleeping cars, the variant sleeping car layout design itself, which also includes calculation of rolling stock gauge, and then an analytical strength calculation of the attachment of the battery box to the vehicle body. The outcome of this thesis is 3 variants of the interior layout, one of which is processed in detail, the overall layout of components is designed and drawing of whole sleeping car is also created, which is attached to this work.
