Abstract
The diploma thesis deals with public higher education in the Czech Republic. The main goal of the diploma thesis is a multicriteria evaluation of public higher education in the Czech Republic through selected indicators. The partial goal is focused on the financing of public universities. In the practical part of the diploma thesis, public universities are divided into 4 segments according to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, namely art universities, non-university universities, small universities and major universities. Mathematical-statistical methods and quantitative research are useful to create the goal. Within the mathematical-statistical methods, it was processed that in the case of a public university, the development of students was declining and subsequently there was an increasing development of employees. It was also prepared that students first study in the bachelor's degree program and more employees in all segments are academic staff. Based on a simple ratio indicator has been processed that art colleges are within contributions and grants contribute two funds per student. Quantitative research defines the hypotheses that were evaluated in the work. In the end, all defined hypotheses were rejected. The whole work is prepared for the period 2012-2019.
