Analýza dopadů změny procesu odbavení cestujících před odletem

Abstract

This bachelor thesis focuses on analyzing the impact of changing the passenger check-in process at Leoš Janáček Ostrava Airport by implementing self-service check-in kiosks. The initial chapters provide a comprehensive description of the current check-in process, including terminal infrastructure, manual check-in desks, security control, and boarding procedures. The technical specifications of selected kiosks from providers such as SITA, Embross, and Amadeus are then analyzed. A feasibility study follows, addressing optimal placement of kiosks within the terminal, seasonal passenger flow, necessary terminal modifications, and anticipated changes in staffing. A key component of the thesis is the operational and financial evaluation, including an estimate of return on investment based on projected savings in personnel and efficiency improvements. The thesis concludes that self-service kiosks can significantly enhance check-in efficiency, reduce labor dependence, shorten passenger wait times, and improve overall travel experience.
