Abstract

This bachelor thesis is focused on the comparison of aviation piston diesel engines for kerosene. The history of piston aircraft engines and new diesel engine technologies are described. In particular, a two-stroke aircraft diesel engine is described. Furthermore, the fuels used in aviation are described and specific diesel and petrol engines are also compared. At the end of the work, the future development of diesel engines in aviation is outlined.
