Abstract

The aim of the thesis is to use the Markowitz, Black, Value at Risk and naive strategies to determine the optimal stock portfolio for a small investor and verify that the models are applicable in practice. The thesis consists of five chapters, where the first chapter is an introduction and the last fifth chapter concludes. The second chapter describes the financial market as a whole, market participants and its distribution. There are also described some financial assets that are traded on the financial market. The third chapter describes the basic quantities of the shares and the method of their calculation, then describes and defines the individual methods for determining the optimal portfolio of shares and how to calculate them. In the fourth, practical part of the thesis, strategies for determining the optimal portfolio are described, which are described in the third chapter. At the end of the thesis, the resulting portfolio values are evaluated.
