Abstract
SKÁCEL, Marek. Analysis and Evaluation of Uncertainties in the Calibration of Torque, Pressure and Length Measuring Instruments. Ostrava, 2025. Bachelor’s Thesis. Ostrava: VSB – Technical University of Ostrava, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Machining, Assembly and Engineering Metrology (346). 64 p. Supervisor: Ing. Jan Zelinka, Ph.D.
The bachelor thesis deals with the analysis and evaluation of uncertainties in the calibration of torque, pressure and length measuring instruments. The introductory part describes the importance of calibration in industrial practice and defines the basic concepts in the field of metrology. This is followed by an overview of current calibration methods for individual types of measuring instruments and methods for calculating measurement uncertainty according to EA-4/02 and GUM documents. The experimental part focuses on the practical calibration of selected measuring instruments carried out at Škoda Pars a.s. For each instrument, the dominant components of uncertainty are identified and quantitatively evaluated. The results are subsequently discussed, compared, and measures aimed at improving the accuracy and reliability of the calibration process are proposed.
