Abstract
The dissertation deals with optimising the operation of manipulation positions for a factory train station in the company Arcelor Mittal Ostrava Ltd. by processing an algorithm for supporting the decisions of the train dispatcher and with a system for supporting decision-making while planning the operation of manipulation positions. The introductory chapters provide a description of the basis of linear programming, i.e. methods which were used for solving the given problem. Further chapter deals with the creation of the linear mathematical model used and a description of the basis commands used in the optimization software Xpress – IVE used for this model. The following chapters are about obtaining and processing entry data. At the end of the dissertation, the output obtained is presented with a formulation of the data obtained, an evaluation and a conclusion.
