Abstract
HENEK, V. Numerical modeling of water flow through nozzle spray of the fire tower of coke battery. Ostrava: VŠB - Technical University of Ostrava, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Hydromechanics and Hydraulic Equipment, 2014, 66 p. Thesis, head: Ing. Adam Bureček, Ph.d.
This diploma thesis deals with numeric modeling of water flow through spray nozzle of the fire tower of coke battery, which was realized in the ANSYS FLUENT program. The nozzle is numerically modeled in order to see how it works and how large its spray surface is. First part of the thesis describes process of sprinkling of coke, differentiation of flows and types of nozzles. It also explains concept of multiphase flow and model of discrete phase. The practical part contains models settings, realization of numeric modeling itself, which includes creation of geometry and meshing, and the results of simulation. The results are compared with output of experiment verifying the calculating model and followed by design modifications, which are able to solve the authority’s requirements to resolve the request authority to resolve the intensity of spraying nozzles in the back of the duct. The last part brings the evaluation of results of adjusted spray nozzle’s simulation.
