Abstract
Master thesis deals with a design of a tank for storing liquid hydrocarbons and design of its insulation with respect to minimal heat dissipation. The tank is realized by a coiled pipe with forced and spontaneous water circulation with a plate heat exchanger. The theoretical part concerns with basic types of storage and evaluation of ecological aspects. This is followed by a description of different types of hydrocarbon tanks including the composition of their components and an analysis of heat exchangers and principals of water level measurement. The practical part deals with design calculations of the tank and its insulation. The composition of plate heat exchanger with forced and spontaneous water circulation, a combined water-to-liquid-hydrocarbons heat exchange and proportions of coiled pipes.
