Abstract
This work focuses on progressive methods and technologies based on Industry 4.0 and its impact on industrial automation. The influence of the Industry 4.0 vision on the improvement and automation of the process of a specific production point in the production area is defined here, unified in an overall view of the automation of systems and technical assumptions that result from this concept. Specific points in the work are mapped by the development of an automation cell and efforts to improve the process of grinding the stator bundle of an electric motor for the purpose of cleaning it from impregnation varnish, using modern automation elements such as a force sensor. The overall comparison of the manual method versus the automated one is presented in the work using researched data, with the presented automation elements related to the progressive methods of Industry 4.0, such as modern elements of robotization, additive technology, digital twin, improvement of workplace ergonomics, or safety of the robotic workplace.
