Abstract

In the theoretical part of my thesis is the description of the function, principle of operation and main components of the hydrodynamic pump. Further I deal with causes and place of volumetric losses in hydrodynamic pump. In the third chapter the theory is elaborated, which describes the mechanisms of the flow in the narrow gaps. After the theoretical part the next chapters are dedicated to the design of geometry, grid generation, definition of the mathematical model for CFD analysis, Fluent programme setting, and numerical solution. In conclusion, the results are processed in a graphical relationships and the evaluation of the effect of the sealing gap geometry on the volumetric efficiency is presented.
