Abstract
The master thesis is focused on optimization of flow passage of check valve with the help of computing software ANSYS Fluent and its optimization tool Adjoint Solver. The aim of the thesis is to optimize the flow part of the valve in terms of reduction of the loss coefficient value. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to the issue of check valve, the theory of defining mathematical models in the flow of single-phase fluid and the theory of Adjoint Solver. The practical part describes the process of creating a mathematical model of the check valve and application of Adjoint Solver. Subsequently, the loss coefficients and hydrodynamic forces acting on the non-return flaps are evaluated and compared.
