Návrh převodového mechanismu řízení pro závodní automobil

Abstract

This bachelor's thesis deals with the structural design of a steering gear mechanism for a Formula Student race car. The aim was to replace the previously used commercial solution with an in-house steering gear adapted to the new front suspension kinematics. A rack and pinion gear was chosen for the design. The gear geometry was determined analytically, the forces in the steering mechanism were calculated from moment equilibrium, and the designed gear teeth were verified by a strength calculation in KISSsoft software according to ISO 6336. The mechanism was designed as a complete assembly and modelled in Autodesk Inventor. The result is a rack and pinion gear with a weight of 623 grams, representing a weight saving of 8.4 percent compared to the commercial solution. The safety factors of the gear teeth meet the requirements of the standard with reserve, and the design complies with the Formula Student rules for the 2026 season.
