Abstract

The presented master´s thesis focuses on the technology of water jets and removal of thermal spray coatings with water jets. The thesis consists of a theoretical part which deals with water jets and their classification according to different criteria. The principles of cutting, factors affecting the properties of water jets, applications of water jets and their advantages and disadvantages are also presented. The next part of the thesis aims at describing the pulsating water jets, the difference between continuous and pulsating water jets, advantages and application of the pulsating jet for practice. The following chapters deal with the thermal spraying. Significant part of the thesis focuses on the experiment of the removal of thermal spray coatings with pulsating and continuous water jets and evaluation of experimental results. At the end of the thesis, the obtained knowledge is evaluated and analysed.
