Abstract
The Master Thesis deals with the influence of heat treatment of steel forgings from material S355J0 on the speed of ultrasonic wave propagation. In the introductory two chapters, the basics of ultrasound and heat treatment of steels are described. The next chapter is devoted to the description of the production of calibration gauges, inspection and parameters for the release of suitable pieces. In the experimental part, the thesis focuses on the possibility of repairing nonconforming pieces and returning them to the production process. The experiment is based on various stages of heat treatment of samples. Three samples with unsatisfactory speed are heat treated, one sample is left in its original state. All four samples are then compared to fully compliant material. On the basis of good experimental results, the rate of transverse ultrasonic wave propagation can be corrected by heat treatment.
